WATERLOO, Ind. (ADAMS) – Two children who were the focus of an AMBER Alert in Ohio have been found safe in Waterloo, Indiana. The car they were in was seen by DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies just before 11 p.m. Saturday in the 4700 block of US 6.
The five-year-old boy and eight-month-old girl were turned over to the Department of Child Services while their 34-year-old mother, Christian Salinas, was arrested. Police say she had made several threats to hurt the kids.

The DeKalb County Sherriff’s Office released the following:
On 06/17/2023 the DeKalb County Sherriff’s Office was made aware of a vehicle that was involved in an Amber alert out of Cleveland OH. Sheriff’s Deputies located the vehicle in the 4700 block of US.6. The vehicle was then followed to the Shell gas station in Waterloo where deputies made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. After making contact with the occupants in the vehicle it was determined that the two juveniles were inside. The juveniles were safe and taken into protective custody, and later released to the Department of Child Services. Cleveland Police are conducting an investigation which is ongoing, and the Children are safe at this time.
