HUNTERTOWN, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim in a Huntertown shooting. 23-year-old Taurean Malik Hayden’s death was ruled a homicide – the eighth this year in Allen County.
Court documents are reported to show that his father, 43-year-old Taurean Hayden, admitted to police he shot and killed his adult son over money Wednesday.
Hayden was arrested while walking naked with a gun in a neighborhood in Huntertown, and pointing the weapon at people. His 23-year-old son was found with several gunshot wounds.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following:
On Wednesday, March 5th, 2025, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a shooting that had occurred in the 4000 block of Halsey Court in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The
individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The person has been identified as Taurean Malik Hayden, 23, male, Black of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
An autopsy has been completed, and notification has been made to the legal next of kin. The Cause of Death is Multiple Gunshot Wounds, and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Taurean Malik Hayden is the 8th homicide for Allen County in 2025.
The incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sherrif’s Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – A 43-year-old Allen County man is now charged with murder after he was arrested walking naked down a street in northwest Allen County Wednesday morning.
Police have not released many details but say that Taurean Hayden said he had shot someone in his home, and they found that person’s body there. Hayden was charged with murder, and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating. The victim’s identity has not been released.

On 03/05/2025, at approximately 10:48 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 4900 block of Halsley Ct., regarding a naked black male pointing a handgun at individuals and walking around the area. Officers arrived and were able to locate the suspect, who was armed with a handgun.
