FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A construction worker was hurt but expected to recover after being struck by a vehicle at N. Clinton and Wallen Monday evening.
The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says that officers responded around 6:30 p.m. and found the worker and the car just north of the intersection. The worker was taken to the hospital, where it was determined the injuries were minor.
Police say the vehicle was going to make a left turn onto Wallen Road from Clinton when they suffered a medical event. This caused the driver to miss the turn and cross through the intersection.

The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a car versus a construction worker crash at the intersection of N. Clinton St. and E. Wallen Rd. on May 5, 2025, just after 6:30 pm. Initial reports indicated a construction worker was struck by a vehicle and the vehicle left the screen of the crash. Officers arrived locating the construction worker at the intersection and the vehicle just north of the intersection. The construction worker was transported to a local a hospital and it was determined by medical professionals the worker suffered only minor injuries.
The initial investigation indicates the vehicle was northbound on N. Clinton St. getting ready to make a left turn. The driver missed the left turn. The vehicle crossed through the intersection, crossed the center line of the roadway, and exited the west side of N. Clinton Rd. coming to a rest. It is believed the driver of the vehicle had a medical event causing the driver to no longer be in control of the vehicle which led to the construction worker being struck.
