FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says an 86-year-old woman is dead following a shooting early Sunday morning.
Officers were sent to the 900 block of Colerick Street on a report of a shooting around 2 a.m. and found the woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Sunday, June 1st, 2025, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 900 block of Colerick Street around 0150 hours reference a shooting investigation.
When officers arrived, they located an elderly female suffering from gunshot wound(s). She was pronounced deceased on scene by medics. The adult female victim was identified as an 86yo who lived at the residence. The victims information will be released by the Allen County Coroners Office at a later date.
The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting and is requesting the public’s help with reviewing any surveillance video from that time frame in that area or If you observed anything suspicious during that time frame, you can call the FWPD at 260-427-1201, Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867, or use the free “P3 Tips” app. Crime stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest in the case.
