DELAWARE CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – 29-year-old Sierra Vanoven of Fort Wayne is facing several charges after she was arrested Friday, leading police on a high-speed chase on Interstate 69 in Delaware County.
Indiana State Police say she was going 120 miles per hour with an infant in the back seat of a yellow Chevrolet Camaro. The one-year-old baby is in the custody of the Department of Child Services. Vanoven is facing charges of reckless driving, neglect of a dependent, and resisting law enforcement.

Short Pursuit Ends in Arrest on Interstate 69 in Delaware County
Delaware County – On Friday, June 27th, at approximately 9:00 am, Master Trooper Shawn Cosgrove attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a yellow 2012 Chevrolet Camaro for a speeding violation on Interstate 69 southbound near the 251-mile marker.
The driver failed to stop and accelerated, reaching speeds of approximately 120 miles per hour. A brief pursuit ensued before they stopped near the 248-mile marker.
Following standard procedure, troopers conducted a high-risk felony stop. The driver, identified as Sierra Evette Vanoven, 29, of Fort Wayne was taken into custody without further incident.
During a search of the vehicle for other passengers, troopers discovered a 1-year-old infant secured in a car seat in the back seat.
Sierra Evette Vanoven was preliminarily charged with the following:
Resisting Law Enforcement, a Level 6 Felony.
Neglect of a Dependent, a Level 6 Felony.
Reckless Driving, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Vanoven was transported to the Delaware County Jail and is awaiting formal charges.
The infant was unharmed and released into the custody of the Department of Child Services.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
