FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A home on Wells Street has heavy damage after a fire Sunday morning. Fort Wayne Fire Department crews were called around 7:18 a.m. and found flames coming from the attic of the building on the 1600 block of Wells.
The building was unoccupied, with a first-floor business and second-floor apartment both being renovated. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department released the following:
Fort Wayne Allen County Communications received multiple 911 calls indicating a house on fire. Fort Wayne Fire Engine 7 arrived to a two story structure with flames coming from the attic. The fire was extinguished and the building searched for possible victims. The building was unoccupied with a first floor business and second floor apartment both being renovated. No injuries occurred at this incident and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by Fort Wayne Allen County Communications, TRAA, Fort Wayne Police, Neighborhood Code Enforcement, NIPSCO and AEP.
