INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales is urging Hoosiers to stay alert as several scammers have impersonated Indiana government officials. One was able to steal nearly $2 million from an Indiana resident.
Morales says two of the biggest red flags to watch out for are urgency and secrecy, saying people asked to convert cash into cryptocurrency, send gift cards, or wire money are very likely being scammed.
