FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Mission Motherhood, in partnership with Lutheran Health Network, will host two Love Light Shine Bright community events this December.
Everyone is invited to help bring warmth, encouragement, and a moment of hope to patients spending the holidays in the hospital.
Events will take place on Tuesday, December 16, at Dupont Hospital and Thursday, December 18, at Lutheran Hospital, each offering a shared community light moment designed to uplift inpatients and show appreciation for frontline healthcare employees.
The following was released:
Event #1 — Dupont Hospital
Tuesday, December 16 | 6:30–7:15 p.m.
Location: Dupont Hospital Lobby & Main Entrance
Guests are invited to gather in the Dupont Hospital lobby beginning at 6:30 p.m. At 6:45 p.m., Jennifer Norris Hale, Founder of Mission Motherhood, will provide opening remarks alongside Hope’s Harbor, followed by appreciation comments from Brent Parsons, highlighting the positive impact of the annual event on both patients and staff.
From 7:00–7:15 p.m., participants will gather outside the main Dupont Hospital entrance to shine their “love lights”—provided by Mission Motherhood—toward patient rooms. Hope’s Harbor will serve cookies and hot chocolate in the lobby.
Event #2 — Lutheran Hospital
Thursday, December 18 | 6:30–7:15 p.m.
Location: MOB2 Lobby → Heart Pavilion → Front Entrance
The Lutheran Hospital event begins in the MOB2 lobby at 6:30 p.m., followed by a welcome at 6:40 p.m. from Jennifer Norris Hale and gratitude shared by Dusten Roe for the meaningful impact the event has on inpatients and healthcare employees.
At 6:45 p.m., guests will walk to the Heart Pavilion to shine “love lights” toward patient rooms, then continue to the front entrance at 7:00 p.m. to share a second wave of light and encouragement through 7:15 p.m. Hope’s Harbor will again provide cookies and hot chocolate for attendees.
A Tradition of Light and Hope
“Love Light Shine Bright is a beautiful reminder that connection and compassion can brighten even the most difficult moments,” said Jennifer Norris Hale. “We are grateful to the Fort Wayne community for helping us deliver a message of hope to patients and families at both hospital campuses this holiday season.”
The public is encouraged to attend one or both events. Families, children, and community groups are welcome. Lights will be provided for all participants thanks to generous support provided to Mission: Motherhood for this event.
