The Allen County Coroner’s Office says that a bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle in Waynedale has died.
He has been identified as 62-year-old Patrick Mills, of Fort Wayne.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified and made notifications to the next of kin of the deceased individual that was involved in a Bicycle versus Motor vehicle crash at Bluffton Road and Winchester Road in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, at about 2103 hours, Wednesday, December, 10th, 2025 He has been positively identified as Patrick Thomas Mills, Male, White, age 62, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was transported to a local Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Patrick Thomas Mills’s Cause of Death is Multiple Blunt Force Injuries due to a Bicyclist versus Motor Vehicle Crash, and the Manner of Death is Accident.
Patrick Thomas Mills is the 42nd traffic fatality for Allen County in 2025.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Fire Department, Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutor’s office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A bicyclist has life-threatening injuries after being hit by a pickup truck at Winchester and Bluffton roads on Wednesday night.
The Fort Wayne Police Department says that the driver of the truck stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a life-threatening crash at the intersection of Bluffton Rd. and Winchester Rd. At 9:02pm, officers responded to a report of a bicyclist struck at the intersection Bluffton Rd. and Winchester Rd. Officers arrived and discovered an adult male had been riding a bicycle and was struck by a pickup truck. The adult male was determined to be in critical condition and was taken to a local hospital, where he was downgraded to life-threatening condition.
Preliminary information suggests the adult male bicyclist was on Winchester Rd, just southeast of the intersection with Bluffton Rd. The pickup truck was traveling south on Bluffton Rd and as it made a south/southeast turn onto Winchester Rd, it struck the bicyclist. The driver of the pickup, an adult male, remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. Neither he nor his adult female passenger suffered any injuries.
The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Crash Team is currently investigating, taking measurements and searching for and collecting any evidence to determine the exact position and direction of travel of the bicyclist, as well as any other contributing factors. The Air Support Unit is documenting the scene from above.
