UPDATE (February 12, 2026):
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Department of Corrections says it has received the first payment from the federal government for housing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees.
The payment of $1.17 million was for October and was delayed due to the federal government shutdown last fall. DOC officials say subsequent month payments are expected in the next few weeks.
The ICE detainees are housed at the Miami Correctional Facility in northern Indiana.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana Governor Mike Braun says three state agencies have signed agreements to work with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
He says the state is not a haven for illegal immigration, and Indiana will fully partner with federal immigration authorities as they enforce the most fundamental laws of our country.
Indiana State Police, Indiana Department of Homeland Security, and Indiana Department of Corrections will join four local Hoosier agencies and nearly 900 others nationwide if ICE approves the agreements.
