INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A bill that could result in northeast Indiana getting a casino is up for a final vote Tuesday. T
he Senate approved the final version of House Bill 1038 on Monday and added an amendment that would allow a casino to be placed, but not necessarily relocated, to the northeast portion of the state. Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker addressed the idea of a casino in her State of the City address earlier this month.
State Senator Liz Brown says the bill would allow a casino to move from southeast Indiana into her district, and says people who live in the area “will not be able to have their voices heard.”

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana House has passed a bill giving four counties a chance to become the new home of a casino currently located in Rising Sun. Allen, DeKalb, Steuben, and Wayne counties could seek the casino. The Senate needs to pass the bill by the end of this month and send it to Governor Braun for it to become law.
The Indiana Gaming Commission released a study in October saying Indianapolis was the top location for a relocated casino, followed by northeast Indiana.
