FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department (FWFD) says that one person is dead following a fire early Saturday morning.
According to the FWFD, firefighters were called to the 2900 block of Cambridge Boulevard and began to fight the blaze and search for occupants.
FWFD says one person was found inside and was pronounced dead at the scene. Fire officials say it took around half an hour to put out the fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 2900 block of Cambridge Blvd. Upon arrival, crews observed flames and smoke from the windows and immediately initiated an attack. Firefighters entered the structure from multiple sides to search for occupants and located one adult inside. The individual was removed and treated in the front yard, but was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other occupants were found. The fire was brought under control in approximately 25 minutes. FWFD secured the utilities and completed salvage and overhaul operations. Fire investigators are on site to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Multiple crews will remain on scene to address hot spots throughout the night, and the investigation is ongoing.
FWFD was assisted by FWPD, TRAA Medics, NCE, AEP, Nispco, and the 911 Communications Center.
