INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is putting out a warning about scam text messages that appear real.
The texts will take people who click on a link to a website that is designed to look like the BMV site, but is fraudulent. They even create fake receipts and confirmation numbers.
The BMV says they will never send such a text and says anyone who gets them needs to delete the text, don’t click on any links, and report the text to police. They add the fees mentioned in the texts are not what they actually collect.
