FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division has announced several upcoming traffic changes associated with the Leesburg Road Extension project, recently renamed St. Francis Drive.
The following was released:
Motorists traveling in the area should plan for lane restrictions and new traffic control features throughout the week.
Tuesday – Lane Restrictions and Signal Flashing Activation
Beginning Tuesday, lane restrictions will be in place around the new intersection of West Jefferson Boulevard and St. Francis Drive as crews finalize installation of the new traffic signal equipment. The newly installed signal will begin operating in flashing mode on Tuesday to alert motorists of its upcoming full activation.
Wednesday – Extended Lane Restrictions on West Jefferson Boulevard
Starting Wednesday, lane restrictions will begin on West Jefferson Boulevard between St. Francis Drive and Catalpa Street. These restrictions will remain in place through Labor Day as construction continues on corridor improvements.
Friday – Full Signal Activation and Roundabout Opening
On Friday, the new traffic signal at West Jefferson Boulevard and St. Francis Drive (Leesburg Extended) will switch to full operation, providing complete intersection control.
At the same time, the new roundabout at St. Francis Drive and Main Street will officially open to traffic, offering enhanced safety and improved traffic flow in the area.
