INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is issuing a warning to Hoosiers to be aware of scam artists who might try to take advantage of people who need work done after recent severe storms hit the state.
Rokita says they have had reports of people getting scammed already.
His office is urging people to use the Better Business Bureau and Indianaconsumer.com to check that businesses are legitimate. Rokita also is encouraging people to pay for repairs with credit cards, not cash, checks, or debit cards.
