ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Sheriff’s Department has announced Cpl. Benjamin Fries’ resignation.
Thursday afternoon, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department issued a brief statement that he was no longer employed with the department.
On October 8, 2026, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department accepted the resignation of Cpl. Benjamin Fries.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department has no further comment.

It came after Fries’ alleged disturbing comments about police shootings and violence came to the attention of Allen County Sheriff Troy Hershberger.
