Ukraine is bracing for an attack on its capital as Russian troops move deeper into the country. Officials say several missile strikes have hit over the past few hours with at least two apartment buildings damaged. The president spoke this morning, thanking anti-war protesters in Russia. More than 1,200 arrests have been made in at least 44 cities there. Others around the globe are also protesting the invasion. Crowds hit the streets yesterday in New York, DC, Chicago, London, Paris, Berlin, Poland, Spain and more places.
While the Pentagon is sending more troops to Europe as Ukraine fights an invasion. Officials think Russia is aiming to overthrow the Ukrainian government and fear the capital will soon fall. President Biden responded with a new wave of sanctions targeting Russian banks.
