FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Mayor Sharon Tucker will travel to sister city Plock, Poland, this week with a delegation from the City of Fort Wayne.
Mayor Tucker and her delegation will be in Plock May 8-11.
“I’m looking forward to my first visit to one of our sister cities. This will be a tremendous opportunity as I want to help ensure that Fort Wayne is a good neighbor with a commitment to friendship and peace. We want to continue to be part of a global effort to make our cities and countries as places that give back and think of others,” said Mayor Tucker.

The City team will take part in the traditional European Picnic. In addition, Mayor Tucker will be part of a policy discussion with other cities to discuss the importance of supporting senior and elderly communities. Additionally, a photo exhibition of Fort Wayne prepared by the Fort Wayne Sister Cities International team will be on display as part of a cultural celebration in Plock.
This year marks 35 years for the Fort Wayne-Plock partnership. Learning and citizen diplomacy have been key pillars as part of the ongoing relationship between the two cities.
