FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Public Library will open its newest StoryScape early learning location at the Little Turtle Branch (2201 Sherman Boulevard) on Wednesday, May 14. A Grand Opening celebration will take place at 10:00, followed by the popular Toddler Fun program.
“StoryScape is laying a critical literacy foundation in our community. For children, learning and playing are one and the same. These spaces foster that play and create an environment where can connect around books and learning,” said ACPL Youth Services Manager Jacki Fulwood. “With each new StoryScape we open, we make our vast collection of children’s materials even more accessible – and fun – for our youngest readers!”
ACPL representatives released the following:
The ACPL’s StoryScapes focus on promoting early literacy with children ages 7 and younger. Little Turtle’s StoryScape location builds on the success of similar spaces at the Main Library and the Pontiac and Woodburn Branches. It is themed with a miniature greenhouse, a climb-on tractor, a play potting station, a market stand, soft seating, and fun features that create the feel of a garden with a farmer’s market. It complements the popular Seed Library that is housed at Little Turtle and provides free access to seeds for ACPL patrons.
