FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department says that a firefighter was hurt while battling a blaze on Tuesday.
Crews were called to the 1600 block of Lincolndale Avenue close to Coliseum Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. and found flames coming from the front door and windows of a vacant home. It took about 20 minutes but firefighters were able to gain control.
The house suffered heavy fire, water, and smoke damage according to the FWFD. Officials did not specify but said the firefighter who was hurt suffered only a minor injury.
The official cause of the fire is still under investigation.

FWFD responded to a reported house fire, upon the first units arrival they found fire coming from the front door and windows. The fire was extinguished and crews stayed on the scene doing overhaul and extinguishing hot spots. The fire is under investigation.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury.
