INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana is suing the state Attorney General’s office after an investigator showed up at the door of Monroe County resident Lee Lawmaster to say he might be indicted for threats.
Lawmaster had posted “86” on the official Facebook pages of several top elected Republicans in Indiana, and the ACLU is suing on his behalf.
The federal lawsuit is against the director of investigations, Kurt Spivey. The ACLU says Lawmaster is protected under the First Amendment and was not threatening anyone.
