INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A new state law has taken effect that people say will improve animal safety.
Effective now, civil and criminal liability has been removed for people who forcibly enter a vehicle to rescue an animal they believe is in imminent danger.
Officials with Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control say they responded to 28 calls about pets in hot vehicles in June alone.
