FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The City of Fort Wayne says that API Construction will begin work on the Northeast Resurface package starting Monday (July 13, 2026), resulting in several significant road closures and traffic restrictions throughout the week. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, expect delays, and avoid affected areas when possible.
The City released the following:
Monday – Wheelock Road & Stellhorn Road Intersection
- Wheelock Road will be fully closed at the intersection with Stellhorn Road.
- Stellhorn Road will remain open with eastbound and westbound traffic maintained through the intersection.
Tuesday – St. Joe Center Road at Wheelock Road Intersection
- The south leg of Wheelock Road will be fully closed.
- Traffic will be directed south toward Stellhorn Road to navigate the closure.
Wednesday – St. Joe Center Road at Wheelock Road Intersection
- Lane restrictions will be in place on St. Joe Center Road.
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane under flagging operations.
- Significant delays of 15+ minutes are expected; drivers are strongly advised to avoid the area if possible.
